Review: Witch & Wizard by James Patterson

Rating: 3
Young Adult Novel

Sometime in the near future the U.S. ihas been taken over by the totalitarian NO party...the New Order. NO runs every aspect of society and kids are beginning to disappear for no other reason than because they misbehaved. Wisty and Whit, seemingly normal teenagers, find themselves torn away from their parents by NO soldiers and thrown into prison for having special powers; they are accused of being a witch and a wizard.  Wisty and Whit are astonished, but soon they begin to display strange abilities that grow stronger every day. They are determined to escape from prison and find their parents, but discover there is a much more important role for them to play.

This is the first book in a new series for teens by James Patterson. It is entertaining and a fast read. Younger teens will enjoy the superpowers displayed by Wisty and Whit, the fantasy and humor.
